virtual revolution part 2

Tim berners lee, the founder of the WWW said that he made the web to connect people.

some African farmers have used the web to learn better and more efficient farming techniques, they have also  used it to check the prices of other farming produce to establish their prices.

The first people that used it where blown away by the possibility that it could abandon government systems and control.

The WWW also gave way for businesses to make massive amounts of money which would become the second reason for it to exist.

example of this is Napster created by shawn Funning who made a website that allowed people to download and share music files world wide. however it was shut down in 2001
you tube's fist video was in 2005 and now they have over 1,000 videos uploaded a day world wide.

Blogs- The Huffington post is known world wide as the biggest blogger website however it restricts what people can blog about and also edits other peoples blogs which is the opposite of what blogs where meant for. There are 130million blogs and now over 90% of those are unused.

Now the internet has come a long way from where it first started as it was a space where people could get away from all the big corporate control and now its looking more and more like a structured system. As you have the corporate giants like google getting over 28million searchs each month.

some people argue that it mirrors in equality in the real world and I dont think they are far from the truth.
